Photographing Rob and Amy’s three-day wedding in the incredible surroundings of Tangier, Morocco, was an awesome experience. It ticked all the boxes for destination wedding photography, with spectacular views, sunshine, and plenty of great food and drink. Most of all, it was about the people who were there, the laughs, the banter, and everyone bringing their A-game for three days of fun-filled celebrations, and capturing that story was a proper treat.

We started at Amy’s parents’ villa, where people gathered on the evening before the wedding. Drinks, hugs, chats, and Moroccan drumming kicked off the weekend, and people spent some time catching up before the main event.

The following morning, I joined Rob in his suite at Le Mirage, one of the fanciest hotels I have ever been in. It was next-level posh, with a Sultan’s palace next door – actually, I had to hide my camera to get past his security! The views over the beach were amazing.

Next, I bundled myself into the back of a tiny Fiat Panda with Amy and her dad for their drive along the coast to the venue. I just about managed to keep all of my limbs inside the vehicle to capture the whole journey! I really should have done a bit more yoga to prepare!

Their wedding ceremony at L’Ocean Restaurant was laid back and fun, making the most of the views of the beach from start to finish.

From there, it was straight into dinner, and the party got started with dancing and speeches between courses. The outdoor space meant guests could spread out and enjoy the evening breeze on the terrace and lawn, kicking back with games and then some eventful camel rides on the beach.

After a dance with her dad, Amy and Rob had their first dance together as the sun went down overlooking the beach. The party was well and truly underway, with more Moroccan drummers joining us after dark, and everyone dancing into the night.

Day three was a pool party at the family villa, where the fun and crazy antics continued. The Hamid Chaka Band got everyone on their feet, and soon there were flamingos, rubber rings, and competitions happening all over the place. Rob and Amy wore their husband and wife swimwear and launched into the water in style!

The pool party was a chance to use my street photography influence to play around with some interesting compositions and capture the wild atmosphere! After spending three days with them, I felt like I was part of the family, so I joined them for a well-deserved beer or two before flying home later that night – they’re a fun bunch and I loved every bit of the madness!
